A simple, yet effective solution
Clear Smile Aligners are a clear, comfortable and removable alternative to traditional braces specifically designed for mild to moderate cases of misalignment. They are made of soft plastic trays that you wear for up to 22 hours a day, depending on your individual situation and goals.
Best of all, many people get the results they want faster than they would with traditional braces.
The Benefits of Clear Smile Aligners
Clear Smile Aligners work through a series of custom-made soft, plastic trays that gradually apply gentle pressure to move your teeth into the desired position. Each tray is normally worn for 2 weeks before you are given a new one to continue the process. And because they’re removable, you can take them out for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing.
At Camlough Dental, we’ll fully assess your situation and help you decide if Clear Smile is the right option for you.

The Clear Smile Process
To find out if the Clear Smile Aligner treatment is right for you, we will fully assess your teeth and discuss your goals and expectations.
Then, based on the results of your exam, your dentist will decide if Clear Smile, or another treatment, is best. If, together, we decide to go ahead with the treatment, your dentist will discuss the estimated time to complete the process, how many aligner trays you may need, and how much the entire treatment will cost.
Clear smile braces
This system is very effective at different tooth movements to align them. It works similar to the conventional braces children would have, but it is virtually all tooth coloured and is very discreet. Once the assessment is done, the braces can be fitted and are checked and adjusted each month.
Aftercare
Once your tooth straightening treatment is complete you will be fitted with a retainer to help prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original positions. You may need to wear the retainer full-time for a while before transitioning to nighttime wear only, but we will usually fit a fixed retainer that does not need to be removed.
Other than wearing the retainers you only need to follow a normal, healthy oral health routine, such as regular visits to the dentist and daily brushing and flossing.
FAQs
Is the Clear Smile Aligner treatment uncomfortable? Will my mouth hurt?
Though there are constant and steady forces being applied to your teeth, you’ll be pleased to know that most people have very little discomfort. Mild painkillers, such as ibuprofen or paracetamol, can be used for a few days after starting treatment to help with any discomfort.
Will my teeth move back when I finish the treatment?
All teeth have a tendency to move back to their natural position if left to their own devices. For that reason, once you’ve completed your treatment we will fit you with a retainer. How often and how long you need to wear this retainer varies from patient to patient, though most start out wearing the retainer full time before gradually transitioning to wearing it only at night.
Your dentist will answer all your questions about your retainer once your treatment is finished.
Will the Clear Smile Aligner affect my speech?
First the first week or two, it’s possible but unlikely that your speech is affected to a certain degree. However, the more you talk, the faster you will get used to it and the faster you will be able to speak naturally.
