A ‘Clear’ Path to Straighter Teeth
Inman Aligners are a highly effective, yet simple and proven treatment designed to quickly align your front teeth- in as little as 6-18 weeks.
This removable appliance uses an innovative design that uses bows outside and inside the teeth to guide them into position. It works quickly because it only focuses on straightening the front teeth only, as opposed to realigning all the teeth. It’s ideal for treating crowding, protrusions, rotations, crossbites or for correcting orthodontic relapses.
Best of all, the Inman Aligner can be removed if necessary, though we believe it should be worn for 16-20 hours per day for the best results.

The Process
How the Inman Aligner System Works
Once initial impressions are made of your teeth, your Camlough dentist will custom make your Inman Aligner. Then they will fit your new aligner, which you will need to wear for at least 16-20 hours every day.
We will then schedule appointments every 3 – 4 weeks so that we can check on your progress and make sure your aligners still fit properly and there are no issues that need to be resolved.
After about 6- 18 weeks the treatment will normally be complete and you’ll have a brand new smile to enjoy and show off to the world!
Aftercare
Once your Inman teeth straightening treatment is complete, we will fit you with a retainer that you will need to wear at night to make sure your teeth don’t return to their former position, or have a fixed one that is not removed.
As always, you should continue to follow a regular oral health routine, including brushing and flossing and regular visits to our practice, as well as eating smart and protecting your teeth during contact sports and other rough activities.
During your regular dental check-ups we’ll monitor the alignment of your teeth and make sure you are still happy with the results.
FAQs
Is the Inman Aligner uncomfortable? Will my mouth hurt?
Though there are constant and steady forces being applied to your teeth, you’ll be pleased to know that most people have very little discomfort. Mild painkillers, such as ibuprofen or paracetamol, can be used for a few days after starting treatment to help with any discomfort.
Will the inman aligner affect my speech?
For the first week, it’s possible that your speech will be affected to a certain degree- some people describe it as trying to talk with marbles in their mouths. However, the more you talk, the faster you will get used to it and the faster you will be able to speak naturally.
Will my teeth move back when I finish the treatment?
All teeth have a tendency to move back to their natural position if left to their own devices. For that reason, once you’ve completed your treatment we will give you the choice of either a removable or fixed retainer.
The removable retainer is worn during the night for 4-5 nights a week and is gradually phased down to 2-3 nights a week.
The fixed retainer is bonded permanently to the back of the front teeth. It consists of a thin orthodontic wire that cannot be seen from the front.
Your dentist will discuss your best option with you once your treatment is finished.
